Job summary

EtaPRO LLC, a Toshiba Group Company, seeks an Application Engineer to join our Amherst, NY team. You will independently develop, configure, implement, and commission real-time performance and condition-monitoring solutions for energy customers.

The role applies thermodynamics, heat transfer, and plant performance knowledge to analyze conditions, diagnose issues, and deliver complete technical work products, with occasional travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
• Minimum 2 years in an engineering role.
• Experience with thermodynamics, heat transfer, and plant systems.
• Ability to interpret design docs, diagrams, and process data.
• Experience with SQL or PostgreSQL databases is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review plant design data and diagrams to define monitoring needs.
• Configure models, displays, and reports for EtaPRO systems.
• Build thermodynamic models to assess performance and condition.
• Apply engineering methods to diagnose off-design operation.
• Develop diagnostic flow charts for complex issues.
• Own deliverables and coordinate with teams and customers.
• Participate in customer meetings and explain technical details.
• Deliver end-user training and support system deployment.
