Job summary

Coesia North America is seeking an Application Engineer within the Modernization team to develop technical solutions that upgrade existing packaging equipment. You will work with customers and internal teams to translate needs into practical, cost-effective modernization proposals.

The role requires strong mechanical expertise, CAD proficiency, and the ability to interpret diverse machine documentation. Occasional travel to customer or vendor sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in machinery or packaging equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Proficiency with CAD tools: SolidWorks, Solid Edge, AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and translate them into practical modernization concepts.
• Evaluate existing packaging machinery and determine suitable modernization or reconfiguration options.
• Interpret legacy and modern machine drawings and 2D/3D models.
• Develop cost estimates for materials, labor, and assembly.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to validate concepts and align on requirements.
• Prepare technical write-ups detailing scope, operation sequence, and performance needs.
• Support Sales Operations during proposal development with technical input.
• Utilize CAD tools to communicate solutions and support decision-making.
• Assist feasibility testing and early-stage validation to reduce risk.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
