Job summary

Xylem is hiring an Application Engineer IV to tackle complex wastewater and process water projects across industries such as microelectronics, food & beverage, mining, power, and chemical processing. You will design, size, and specify treatment systems, develop PFDs/P&IDs, and lead technical client discussions. This role supports a hybrid work model across multiple U.S.

locations. The candidate should have a chemical engineering background with 8+ years of experience, strong design expertise,

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Chemical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in water treatment or process design.
• Advanced knowledge of water treatment processes and equipment platforms.
• Ability to source and apply advanced third-party components to new applications.
• Solid understanding of proposals, costing, risk mitigation, and contracts.

Responsibilities

The wastewater systems typically consist of equalization, pH neutralization, chemical precipitation, clarification, Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF), media filtration, ultra filtration, reverse osmosis, sludge thickening, and dewatering.
