Job summary

SupportFinity™ is looking for an Applications Engineer Intern based in California to support Global Key Account customers with microcontroller projects. The intern will develop applications and create technical documentation, ensuring project success.

Qualified candidates are currently enrolled or recently graduated with a degree in a relevant field and possess skills in C programming and debugging. The role offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in or recent completion of relevant degree.
  • Experience with ARM-based microcontrollers preferred.
  • Proficient in C programming, assembly knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and demo applications for microcontrollers.
  • Benchmark performance and reliability of applications.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Assist customers during deployments.

Skills

Firmware FOC for inverters
On-Board Charging (OBC)
Power Conversion (PFC, DC/DC)
Battery Management (SOC, SOH)
Proficiency in C programming
Software and hardware debugging skills
Familiarity with vehicle communication networks
Knowledge of peripherals
Competent use of oscilloscope
Ability to read circuit schematics
Fluent English

Job Overview

Applications Engineer Intern – Santa Clara, CA.

Primary responsibility: support Global Key Account customers with microcontroller projects by providing demo applications, benchmarking, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and demo application(s) for microcontrollers.
  • Benchmark performance and reliability.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Assist customers and internal teams during deployments.
Qualifications
  • Enrolling in or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Knowledge of one of the following areas: Firmware FOC for inverters, On-Board Charging (OBC), Power Conversion (PFC, DC/DC), Battery Management (SOC, SOH).
  • Experience with ARM‑based microcontrollers, preferably STM32.
  • Proficiency in C programming; Assembly knowledge is an advantage.
  • Software and hardware debugging skills.
  • Familiarity with vehicle communication networks: Ethernet, CAN.
  • Knowledge of peripherals: Timers (PWM), ADC (SAR), SPIN, UART, GPIO.
  • Competent use of oscilloscope.
  • Ability to read circuit schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets.
  • Python and Office Suite skills.
  • Fluent English; Italian/French a plus.
