Job summary

Leggett & Platt Hydraulics is seeking an Application Engineer to bridge Product Engineering, Sales, Sourcing, and Production. You will help develop, improve, and grow our hydraulic cylinder business while collaborating with OEMs to identify design and manufacturing opportunities.

The role reports to the Application Engineering Manager and involves supporting product development, cost analysis, and cross-functional teamwork to expand our customer base and meet unique client needs.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical/Design Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or project management.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, Pro/E).
• Willing to travel to support engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and site conditions to propose tailored technical solutions.
• Perform cost analyses on materials, labor, and investments for projects.
• Conduct product analyses to determine opportunities and required investments.
• Translate feedback into actionable design improvements for core engineering teams.
• Provide after-market technical support and cross-functional collaboration across departments.
