Job summary

DEWESoft, LLC is seeking an Application Engineer — Field Industrial/Electrical to join our remote US team. You will bridge our high-performance DAQ hardware with frontline automation and electrical testing groups.

Travel will be 50–75% to customer sites across the U.S. and Canada. You will configure multi-channel DAQ setups, run live proofs-of-concepts, and help integrate CAN, Modbus, OPC UA, and EtherCAT in real environments.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of hands-on field or test engineering experience.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation/Controls, Mechatronics, or related STEM field.
• Experience with electrical systems, sensors, and industrial controls.

Responsibilities

• Architect tailored test configurations with multi-channel DAQ for VFDs and motor testing.
• Run live proofs-of-concepts at customer sites and prove edge over legacy analyzers.
• Bridge DAQ with automation using CAN bus, Modbus, OPC UA, and EtherCAT.
• Co-pilot the sales process through demonstrations, deep dives, and client training.
• Guide product R&D with feedback from industrial engineers.

We’re looking for a Field Application Engineer who lives and breathes electrical systems, automation, and industrial diagnostics. If you enjoy stepping into manufacturing plants, automation labs, and R&D facilities to solve complex hardware/software signal puzzles, DEWESoft is your next move.

Your Mission

You will be the high-level technical authority bridging our cutting-edge hardware/software with front-line industrial automation and electrical testing teams.

• Architect Tailored Test Configurations: Work directly with automation engineers, system integrators, and OEM developers to configure multi-channel DAQ setups for VFD efficiency, motor testing, transient logging, and dynamic signal analysis.
• Run Live Proof-of-Concepts: Take our DAQ platforms into the field. Connect directly to VFDs, PLCs, encoders, and sensor arrays to prove DEWESoft’s edge over legacy analyzers in real-world environments.
• Bridge the Gap Between DAQ & Automation: Integrate high-speed data capture with plant-floor systems using industrial protocols like CAN bus, Modbus, OPC UA, and EtherCAT.
• Co-Pilot the Sales Process: Partner with regional sales teams to act as the primary technical expert during high-stakes demonstrations, technical deep dives, and client training.
• Guide Product R&D: Act as the voice of the industrial engineer back to our product development team, directly influencing the next generation of hardware modules and software features.

What You Bring to the Table

• Experience & Education: 5–7 years of hands-on field or test engineering experience with a 2–4 year degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation/Controls, Mechatronics, or a related STEM field.
• Electrical & Sensor Mastery: Solid command of 3-phase circuits, signal conditioning, high-voltage transducers, current clamps, Rogowski coils, and encoder signals.
• Industrial Controls Familiarity: Hands-on experience with VFDs, PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), and industrial communication bus architectures (CAN, Modbus, OPC UA).
• Field-Ready Mindset: A track record of safely navigating, troubleshooting, and setting up instrumentation in fast-paced industrial and test cell environments.
• Road Warrior Drive: Willingness to travel 50% of the time to customer sites across the U.S. and Canada.
