Job summary

WEG Electric Corp is seeking an Application Engineer to support the quotation and negotiation process for electric machines. The role involves communicating with field sales, customers, and factories, and leading opportunities from RFQ to close.

Candidates should have 1–3 years in application engineering or related experience, plus a degree or equivalent. Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is expected to prepare accurate quotations and manage documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or university program certificate, or 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1 to 3 years’ experience as Application Engineer in Electric Machines industry or relevant business experience.
• Proficiency with electrical machines and their applications, and ability to apply this knowledge to quotations and negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Field Sales, Customer(s), and factories effectively
• Demonstrates an understanding of the application, the OEMs, customer visits, etc.
• Develop industry experience through periodicals, internet research, conference participation, site visits, etc.
• Lead and take ownership of the quotation/opportunity by requesting feedback from Sales or directly from customers
• Compile an accurate quotation to customers of WEG’s offering
• Follow minimum pricing guidelines as established by management
• Identify opportunities to management when alternate pricing is needed
• Receive and review Purchase Orders
• Generate order entry material
• Organize all quotation/order documentation electronically and hard copies (if needed)
• Assist Project Coordinator / Manager technically or commercially as needed
