Job summary

Alexander Daniels Global is seeking an Application Engineer in the Greater Boston Area to help develop, validate, and optimize advanced manufacturing applications. This hands-on role involves evaluating designs, preparing 3D models, running print and manufacturing trials, and documenting results to improve quality and process performance.

Candidates typically hold a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 2–3 years of experience; Rhino/Grasshopper proficiency is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, Materials Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Approximately 2–3 years of relevant professional experience; recent graduates with extensive internship experience may be considered.
• Strong proficiency in CAD and computational design tools, particularly Rhino and Grasshopper.
• Experience developing, building, and testing physical prototypes; ability to read tolerances and technical drawings.
• Excellent organizational skills and disciplined documentation; able to communicate across cross-functional teams.
• Experience with additive manufacturing, CNC, robotics, or automated production is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support development, validation, and optimization of advanced manufacturing applications.
• Evaluate product designs and modify 3D models as needed.
• Conduct print and manufacturing trials and document results.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and customers to develop practical solutions.
• Support prototype and validation builds across multiple sectors (industrial, medical, automotive, etc.).
• Contribute to projects emphasizing experimentation, process improvement, and production technology.
