ControlsJobs is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer in St. Louis, MO to design, develop, and coordinate building automation systems for commercial projects.

This full‑time role blends office work with client site visits and requires strong BAS engineering experience and familiarity with Tridium platforms. You will create BAS architecture using AutoCAD or MS Visio, write Sequences of Operations, prepare submittals, and develop BOMs, wiring diagrams, and panel drawings while collaborating

Qualifications

• Experience as a Controls Engineer, Applications Engineer, or similar BAS design role.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or MS Visio for BAS architecture.
• Able to write Sequences of Operations and prepare submittals.
• Hands-on familiarity with Tridium front-end programming.
• Experience creating network layouts, wiring diagrams and panel drawings.
• Knowledgeable in selecting cost-efficient materials for installation teams.
• Able to collaborate with programmers, project managers, and sales staff.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies.
• Comfortable conducting site surveys and job walks.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee BAS system architecture for new and retrofit projects.
• Develop BOMs, wiring schematics, network diagrams, and related design documents.
• Prepare and manage submittals; review design documentation for accuracy.
• Work closely with sales teams to ensure alignment on scope and technical approach.

A respected mechanical and building automation contractor in the St. Louis metro area is looking for an experienced Applications Engineer to help expand and support its growing controls division. This role centers on the design, development, and technical coordination of building automation systems. The ideal candidate will have strong BAS engineering experience, familiarity with Tridium platforms, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, cost-effective system designs.
