Job summary

ControlsJobs is seeking a BAS Application Engineer (Mid & Senior) in Chicago, IL to design, program, and optimize BAS controllers and sequences of operation for data center and building automation projects. You’ll prepare submittals, graphics, and documentation, and collaborate with HVAC, MEP, and IT teams.

Ideal candidates have strong BAS programming and integration skills, experience with BACnet/Modbus, and familiarity with Tridium Niagara is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Strong BAS programming, troubleshooting, and integration capabilities.
• Experience with BAS platforms; Tridium Niagara is a strong plus.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines (HVAC, IT, MEP).

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and optimize BAS controllers and sequences of operation.
• Prepare BMS submittals, as-built documentation, graphics, and control drawings.
• Configure and integrate systems using BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP protocols.
• Provide remote engineering support to project managers and field personnel.
• Commission programs, verify logic, and validate overall system performance.
• Maintain and apply standardized programming and documentation practices.
• Collaborate with HVAC, MEP, mechanical, and IT teams to support project delivery.
• Troubleshoot BMS servers, networks, field controllers, and IoT-enabled devices.

Responsibilities:
