We are seeking an Application Engineer - Controls responsible for proposal and estimate development for complex industrial automation solutions in the Mission Critical / Data Center industry. Projects range across process control automation applications. You will collaborate with Business Development and other teams to develop methods, tools, and processes to standardize and improve proposal and estimating processes across the business unit.

This role is remote but may require monthly travel to Plano, TX.

You will:

1. Prepare work estimates by reviewing RFPs, engineering drawings, and specifications.
2. Meet with customers to review technical scope and requirements.
3. Identify labor, material, travel expenses, and time requirements.
4. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to define and develop estimates.
5. Analyze costs related to labor, materials, and time.
6. Resolve discrepancies by analyzing information.
7. Present estimates with clear numerical and descriptive data.
8. Prepare reports by analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
9. Maintain cost databases.
10. Attend educational workshops to maintain technical knowledge.
11. Represent our core values, prioritizing success for E Tech Group, clients, and professional development.

You Have:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
2. 8+ years of experience in Industrial Automation related to design, controls, programming, and electrical engineering.
3. Experience with estimating tools, methods, and proposal management standards.
4. Proficiency in Excel and spreadsheets.
5. MS Project experience is a plus.
6. Understanding of ERP and project costing systems.
7. Knowledge of customer plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
8. Strong communication skills.
9. A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
