Job summary

Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking an Applications Engineer for a Pittsburgh area manufacturer. The role focuses on solution-based assistance for customers' assembly-based inquiries, including testing, evaluation, and proposal preparation.

The ideal candidate will have several years in manufacturing or automation, be able to read mechanical drawings and schematics, and possess hands-on experience with common shop equipment and PLC-based controls. Travel up to 5% may be required.

Qualifications

• 3 years in the manufacturing industry (automation preferred).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Experience with manual lathe, mill, surface grinders, etc. as well as CNC machines.
• Understanding of PLC-based controls.
• Experience with CAD software is a plus.
• History of self-motivation, organization, problem-solving, and multi-tasking.
• Solid written, typing and oral communication skills.
• Travel up to 5% annually.

Our client is seeking an experienced individual to provide solution-based assistance for their customers' assembly-based technical inquiries. Key responsibilities include application testing and evaluation, product selection assistance, conceptualize solutions and preparation of proposals.

Requirements:

• Three (3) years of experience in the manufacturing industry (automation industry preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical and pneumatic schematics
• Experience with conventional tool room equipment including manual lathe, mill, surface grinders, etc.as well as CNC machines.
• Understanding of PLC-based controls.
• Experience with computer-aided design software(s) is a plus
• History of self-motivation, organization, problem-solving, and multi-tasking.
• Solid written, typing and oral communication skills.
• Travel up to 5% annually.
