Job summary

Schroeder Industries LLC is seeking an Application Engineer to support application designs on the product line. You will manage projects, coordinate with Design Engineering, and provide technical training for manufacturing and quality staff.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 1–2 years of experience, and knowledge of hydraulic systems. SAP experience, Excel and Office familiarity are a plus, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
• Hydraulic experience is preferred.
• Experience in fluid power industry/manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage new application designs and ensure they meet customer requirements.
• Coordinate designs with Design Engineering and provide technical training for manufacturing and quality staff.
• Write technical specifications for equipment and evaluate vendor bids.
• Support Product Managers and coordinate with Operations to ensure viability of quoted products.
• Provide technical support to Marketing on sales inquiries and engineering analysis.
• Develop project plans and communicate changes and progress to stakeholders.
• Build relationships with distributors, regional sales managers and customers.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area according to 6S practices.

Description

It is the responsibility of the Application Engineer to support application designs on the product line.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for project management of new application designs and requirements as specified by customers.
• Interact and coordinate designs with Design Engineering.
• Provide technical training for manufacturing and quality staff.
• Write technical specifications for equipment.
• Evaluate bids from vendors, analyze and interpret technical requirements from customer inquiries and specifications.
• Work as a support role for Product Managers.
• Coordinate with Operations to ensure quoted product is viable.
• Provide technical support to Marketing regarding sales inquiries, equipment application, and engineering analysis.
• Develop and coordinate project plans, communicate changes and progress.
• Respond promptly to customer requests for service and assistance.
• Develop effective relationships with distributors, regional sales managers and customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 6S practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; BSME, BSIE, or BSEE is required.
• One to two years’ related experience required.
• Hydraulic experience is preferred.
• Experience in fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
• Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access experience is required.
• Excellent knowledge of ERP software; SAP experience is a plus.
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information; develops alternative solutions.

Certificates and Licenses

• Fluid power certification or willingness to obtain is desired.

• Travel, including driving and overnight stays, is occasionally required.
