Job description

Application Engineer – responsible for sizing and troubleshooting products within the ZurnElkay product line, designing customized solutions for unique customer applications, and providing engineering support to customer care and sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Aiding in the design, development, and redesign of equipment and systems to meet customer needs.
• Communicating product challenges and customer‑specific requirements for resolution.
• Providing equipment functionality and capability reports to the sales force and acting as technical liaison to sales.
• Offering technical product and design assistance to internal and external customers.
• Coordinating additional support activities and post‑sales technical support with engineering departments.
• Drawing, checking, and quoting CAD sales drawings/submittals.
• Project managing large sales projects.
• Producing presentations and product comparisons for sales assistance.
• Assisting in producing sales drawings and siphonic drain layouts.
• Providing tolerancing assistance for made‑to‑order products.
• Determining product technical strengths and weaknesses versus competition.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering with 0–2 years of experience in the field or related area.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access).
• Strong teamwork, presentation, project management, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Experience with CAD (AutoCAD, Inventor) or similar computer‑aided design tools.
• Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Customer‑driven with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to lead, train, and drive change.
• Self‑motivated, able to multi‑task effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
