Job summary

Utica National Insurance Group in Central New York seeks an Application Developer to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain moderately complex to complex software applications. You’ll work from specifications, produce high-quality code, and support ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement.

Primary responsibilities include designing and coding programs, creating tests, documenting procedures, and collaborating with architects and analysts to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of related experience; Guidewire experience preferred.
• Experience with software development lifecycle and testing.

Responsibilities

• Writes new programs or modifies existing programs, working with moderately complex to complex application system designs and specifications and utilizing standard procedures and techniques.
• Designs and codes programs. Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and revise programs as necessary. Documents installation and operating procedures.
• Interfaces with architect to design, code, test, and implement application programs.
• Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Conforms with all corporate policies and procedures.
