Job summary

Southern Company Gas is seeking an Application Developer I for Asset Technology AMI in Atlanta, GA. You will design and develop custom applications to support the AMI Technology portfolio and related COTS integrations, under limited supervision.

The role emphasizes Microsoft backend and Angular frontend tech, API integration, CI/CD automation, and AI‑driven solutions to accelerate digital transformation and deliver scalable, reliable software.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of SDLC and development principles
• Experience with Microsoft technologies including .NET Core 8+ and SQL Server
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience applying AI technologies in app development
• Strong RESTful API experience
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
• Ability to translate complex requirements into robust software
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to mentor junior staff
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining enterprise applications

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions that favor COTS where possible
• Create and modify Technical Design documents
• Collaborate with teams to plan coding and development
• Translate specifications into performant code
• Troubleshoot and improve existing software
• Plan and participate in system testing and deployment
• Provide on-call support and mentor others
• Ensure ITIL processes alignment and production support readiness
