Job summary

Southern Company seeks an experienced Developer I, Application – Asset Technology AMI to design and develop custom applications for the AMI Technology portfolio and COTS applications for Southern Company Gas. You will work under limited supervision, contribute to CI/CD automation, and advance digital transformation with scalable architectures.

The role emphasizes MS backend tech, Angular frontend, API integration, and AI-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong SDLC knowledge and development principles.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies and modern front-end frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions prioritizing COTS usage where applicable.
• Create and modify Technical Design documents.
• Collaborate on planning coding and program development.
• Translate specs to code meeting performance and requirements.
• Modify existing software to fix errors and improve interfaces.
• Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and improve software.
• Plan system testing and deployment activities.
• Develop documentation for complex problems with technical depth.
• Provide on-call support and mentor junior staff.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Ensure alignment with Technology Organization goals.
