Job summary

Akina, Inc. seeks an Application Developer 2 to perform CNO reverse engineering and software development for networked devices at Fort Meade, Maryland.

You will design, implement and integrate tactical software in a fast-paced, mission-centric environment, collaborating with analysts, operators, data scientists and other engineers to provide mission support. Required skills include Unix/Linux familiarity, reverse engineering with Ghidra/IDA, TCP/IP knowledge, and coding in C/C++/Python/Assembly;

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters with required years of experience in SWE/software development.
• Six years of experience for Bachelor degree or four years for Masters; additional SWE experience may substitute for degree.

Description:

The successful candidate will perform CNO reverse engineering and CNO software development for network-based devices. The candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation and integration of tactical software solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic mission-centric environment. The candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with analysts, operators, data scientists and other software engineers to provide mission tactical support.

• Derive, document, and analyze stake-holder requirements.
• Port, modify or augment existing toolsets.
• Provide rapid prototypes for early validation and user feedback to demonstrate an understanding of mission requirements.
• Provide production-ready tools that operate within mission constraints.

Position Required Skills:

• The candidate should be:
• Familiar with Unix based systems (e.g. BSD, Linux, UNIX etc.).
• Experience with reverse engineering Linux based network devices with Ghidra and/or IDA Pro.
• In-depth understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP), and analysis of network traffic (e.g., Wireshark).
• Produce and modify software systems in C/C++/Python/Assembly.
• Provide support for fielded software systems.
• Familiarity with Git and Subversion and Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence).

Nice to Haves

• Experience with reverse engineering various RTOS or MS Windows.
• Experience with various RISC processors (MIPS, POWER, ARM).
• Experience with developing CNO specific software in Linux/Windows/Embedded applications.
• Experience with Vulnerability Research and Exploit development.
• Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems.
• Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations.

AD2 Qualifications:

Shall have a minimum of a Bachelor of Computer Science or Computer Engineering and a minimum of six (6) years of software/system development work experience or a Masters of Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a minimum of four (4) years of experience.

Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Salary Range: $213k-$260k (Annually)

The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
