Job summary

AtlantiCare seeks an experienced Applications Systems Analyst IV to lead complex healthcare IT projects, integrating new technology with existing workflows while ensuring regulatory compliance. The role coordinates between technical and clinical teams, guiding end‑to‑end assessment, design, testing, training, and implementation.

As a senior analyst, you will mentor junior staff, apply ITIL practices for incident and change management, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, nursing, or related field; 2 extra years of related experience may substitute.
  • A minimum of 6 years of related experience, with clinical/financial experience in healthcare IT.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project tasks as SME across disciplines, delivering high‑quality solutions.
  • Mentor Analysts I–III and collaborate with stakeholders and end‑users.
  • Apply ITIL incident, change, and problem management practices.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and smooth transitions to operations.

Position Summary

The Applications Systems Analyst IV has extensive knowledge and skills in system design, analysis, and development to execute highly complex or specialized projects. They integrate new technology and custom solutions into existing workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance and coordinating activities between technical and application teams. This senior analyst role requires process or application expertise and strong leadership to collaborate with stakeholders, end-users, and team members to resolve issues throughout assessment, design/build, testing, training, and implementation phases.

Job Description

As a subject‑matter expert across multiple disciplines, the analyst takes formal or informal lead on project tasks, delivers high‑quality solutions, and works seamlessly with healthcare delivery teams. The position includes on‑call responsibilities and supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating commitment to teamwork.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, nursing, or related field required (or 2 additional years of related experience may substitute). Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 6 years of related experience required, with clinical/financial experience in healthcare IT required.
  • Certification: Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
Performance Expectations
  • Mentor Analysts I, II, and III.
  • Utilize the ITIL framework for incident, change, and problem management services.
  • Lead by example, motivate and promote positive team morale.
  • Collaborate with business and clinical personnel to identify, document, and meet business information needs.
  • Design, develop, analyze, and implement information systems that meet project objectives.
  • Conduct studies and analysis to support business and project objectives.
  • Develop and document system requirements.
  • Facilitate current state and future state documentation and perform gap analysis.
  • Coordinate selection and purchase of hardware and related equipment.
  • Recommend and implement processes and workflows that enhance system use and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Integrate computer systems and processes across functions and business units.
  • Assume project leadership responsibilities or assist other project leaders.
  • Apply accepted project management principles and collaborate effectively with project team members, end‑users, and leadership.
  • Ensure smooth and thorough turnover to technical and operational support, including documentation.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of applications and the departments that use them.
  • Develop and provide training to users as needed.
  • Resolve daily problems and issues, innovate system functionality enhancements, and maintain database and documentation integrity.
  • Respond to user issues in a timely manner and mentor other departments and analysts.
  • Generate accurate and timely reports, ensuring data validity.
  • Perform system tests and audits, recommending resolution of issues and establishment of new procedures.
  • Assist in technical development of staff, providing feedback on performance expectations.
  • Practice AIT values and CI CARE principles.
  • Adhere to AtlantiCare and AIT policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment

Work involves computers, laptops, printers, fax machines, copiers, and telephones. The role requires repetitive motion, fingering, hearing, pushing, reaching, reading, calculating, seeing, speaking, standing, walking, and occasional driving. The work environment is dynamic, requiring flexible schedules and on‑call availability.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to department leadership.
