Geisinger in Pennsylvania seeks an applications analyst to drive implementation, adoption, enhancement and support for assigned applications. You will gather requirements, design specifications, build and test plans, and deliver training in a remote or on-site setting.

You will work with stakeholders to document workflows, perform gap analyses, and ensure regulatory compliance across Medicare/Medicaid programs while maintaining information security and supporting 24x7 operations.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Medicare, Medicaid, Dual Eligible and similar government programs.
• Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions for healthcare payers.
• Knowledge of CMS regulations and healthcare regulatory environments.

Shift:

• Responsible for the performance of tasks related to application implementation, adoption, enhancement, and support. This includes but is not limited to analysis, development, training, testing, documentation, go-live and on-going support, problem resolution, and maintenance.
• Develops a strong understanding of assigned application(s).
• Meets with relevant personnel to perform data collection through discussions, workflow observations and document review. Produces documentation including current and future state workflows, pros/cons, gap analysis, needs assessments, design specifications, build documentation, test plans, project plans, status reports and transitionary documentation.
• Performs application testing including unit and scenario-based testing.
• Communicates effectively with peers, informaticians, stakeholders, project teams, and leadership. Completes system build and documentation in accordance with department guidelines and in adherence to change management policy.
• Prepares training material and conducts training classes in either virtual or in-person settings.
• Adheres to best practices regarding information security.
• Participates in team on-call rotation to provide 24x7x365 support to assigned areas.
• Provides remote and/or on-site support as needed to end-users.
• Supports system upgrades, patches, and monitoring.
• Assists in the preparation of department guidelines, standards, procedures, and policies.
• Participates in testing the integration and technical requirements of peripherals and devices that interface with or integrate with assigned applications. Work is typically performed in an on-campus or home office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Relevant experience may be a combination of related work experience and degree obtained (Associate’s Degree = 2 years; Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years).

Preferred Government Programs, Business & Technical Analysis Experience:

• Demonstrated experience supporting Medicare, Medicaid, Dual Eligible, and other government-sponsored healthcare programs.
• Proven ability to perform business analysis and technical analysis, including gathering, documenting, and translating business, operational, and regulatory requirements into system solutions.
• Strong understanding of healthcare payer operations, CMS regulations, compliance requirements, and government program processes.
• Experience partnering with business stakeholders and technical teams to analyze processes, define requirements, support system enhancements, and implement regulatory initiatives.
• Experience with requirements management, data analysis, testing, system integration, and production support in a regulated healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of healthcare administration systems, data flows, reporting, and technology solutions supporting government programs.
