Job Overview

We are seeking an Epic Integration/Interface Analyst with strong expertise in Epic Bridges, interface technologies, and APIs. This role is responsible for the design, build, testing, validation, and ongoing support of integrations across the enterprise. The analyst will partner with operational stakeholders and technical teams to gather and translate requirements, onboard and govern vendor applications, configure and support HL7 and FHIR-based integrations, and deliver scalable solutions that support clinical and business workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, test, validate, and support integrations across the entire enterprise environment.
  • Partner with operational stakeholders and technical teams to gather and translate requirements.
  • Onboard and govern vendor applications.
  • Configure and support HL7 and FHIR-based integrations.
  • Deliver scalable solutions that support clinical and business workflows.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Lead functional, integration, and regression testing.
  • Support go-lives and upgrades.
  • Maintain integration documentation and standards.
  • Coordinate closely with Epic, EDI, vendors, and project teams to ensure reliable, secure, and stable integrations.
  • Provide oversight and mentorship to other Epic Application Specialists.
  • Perform as lead or key point-person for Epic application modules and associated functional areas.
  • Collaborate with the Application Director on resource scheduling and issue management.
  • Maintain expertise and seek additional knowledge in the support and optimization of assigned Epic modules and how they integrate with other applications.
  • Work cohesively with stakeholders to provide system support, including analysis, build, and testing of requested changes, and analysis of new functionality of applications.
  • Review, build, test, and implement new functionality via System Upgrades and Special Updates.
  • Manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Demonstrate timely, effective, and efficient troubleshooting of complex production software and workflow issues, defining mitigation plans for resolution.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of internal procedures for Epic application support, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Develop timelines and project plans.
  • Maintain system documentation to enable ongoing support and maintenance of the Epic system.
  • Assist the Application Director in developing build timelines and project plans.
  • Oversee unit testing of application configurations and builds in appropriate non-production environments.
  • Create test scripts, ensure relevance and accuracy for integrated and end-user testing.
  • Follow guidelines for system change control.
  • Create and maintain documentation for change management, including cost estimation, project documentation, communication, and training plans.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure process design, interface development, testing, and end-user training meet quality standards.
  • Perform basic project management activities for system changes and medium to large projects.
  • Develop application-specific reports and provide technical specification and assistance to report developers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–7+ years of experience in healthcare IT integration.
  • Hands‑on experience with Epic Bridges and HL7 messaging via Integration Engines (Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, Mirth, etc.).
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
Preferred
  • Epic Bridges certification.
  • Integration Engine certification.
  • Experience with FHIR APIs and modern interoperability standards.
Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field required. May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.

Minimum Experience

7 years of experience in a health care related field required; 5 years of experience supporting one or more Epic modules preferred. Large-scale health care systems planning and implementation experience on application software products preferred.

Physical Requirements

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive

This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215 and Texas Government Code 411.094.
