GENERAL BUILDING APPLIANCE CORP in New York is seeking a friendly Sales Associate to assist customers with shopping needs and ensure an excellent buying experience. You will work one-on-one with clients daily, process inventory, and help maintain the store’s appearance.

The ideal candidate has prior retail sales experience; appliance knowledge is a plus. This family-owned store offers growth opportunities and a team-oriented environment, with weekends required and ongoing training provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively.
• Familiar with email and computer programs such as Google Sheets and Excel; basic website navigation.
• Understanding of sales techniques and good customer service; appliance knowledge is a plus.
• Willingness to work well in a team environment.
• Willingness to operate a register; weekends are a must.

Responsibilities

• Greet each customer with a smile and provide assistance while they are shopping.
• Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures.
• Work on a point of sale system to process customer sales.
• Collect payments by cash and credit card.
• Issue receipts and refunds to customers.
• Take added responsibility for stocking, inventory, and store maintenance.
• Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain solid product knowledge to help customers with selections.
