The Installation Technician reports to the Installation Manager and is responsible for performing a range of HVACR installation jobs for industrial, commercial, and residential customers. Customer-based activities require traits such as decisiveness, initiative, tact, judgment, integrity, dependability, and credible technical communication. The role involves contact with diverse demographic groups, primarily customers, technicians, and managers within Probst Refrigeration & Heating.

Representative Duties

• Participate in installation teams to complete HVACR jobs efficiently and timely.
• Perform routine HVACR installations independently.
• Assist senior technicians in training new employees on installation protocols and callback prevention.
• Conduct point-of-work sales for IAQ services, unit components, replacements, and referrals.
• Support IAQ and Service Departments with non-installation tasks as assigned.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Installation Manager.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma and completion of a post-secondary HVACR program (2+ years).
• At least one year of full-time HVACR experience in service or installation.
• Strong oral and reading skills to understand instructions and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Physical ability to perform duties under various conditions and weather.
• Interest in ongoing HVACR skills development through self-study and training.
• Willingness to learn sales techniques related to HVACR services.
• Valid operator's license and insurability to operate company vehicles within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work efficiently under time pressures and varying conditions.
