Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Appian Architect with hands-on full-stack experience to lead the design, development, and implementation of Appian-based solutions in a federal environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both development and infrastructure, working as a team lead in Agile/SAFe methodologies, and demonstrating expertise in integrating Appian with federal cloud and on-premise enterprise systems. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring the development of robust, secure, and efficient solutions that meet the complex needs of federal agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the development and architecture of Appian-based solutions, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable applications in the federal space.
2. Serve as a hands-on technical lead for the full Appian stack, including both front-end and back-end development, while guiding junior team members.
3. Apply Agile and SAFe methodologies to manage project timelines, deliverables, and sprint cycles, ensuring efficient delivery of solutions.
4. Manage and configure Appian infrastructure, including administrative and operational aspects such as installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Appian environments.
5. Integrate Appian solutions with federal cloud and on-premise enterprise systems, ensuring compliance with federal standards for Single Sign-On (SSO), enterprise logging, performance monitoring, document management, and security (Authority to Operate).
6. Ensure the security and compliance of all Appian solutions, including meeting federal cybersecurity standards and protocols.
7. Design and implement reporting and analytical solutions within the Appian platform, ensuring that they provide valuable insights and support decision-making for stakeholders.
8. Work closely with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend best practices, and develop solutions that align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
9. Lead efforts to develop and integrate enterprise-level solutions with federal standards and architectures, ensuring smooth and effective implementation.
10. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in Appian development and architecture, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong hands-on experience with full-stack development using Appian, including building applications from the ground up, integrating with external systems, and performing administrative and infrastructure tasks.
• Experience with Agile and SAFe methodologies and a proven track record of delivering solutions in these frameworks.
• Experience developing and integrating reporting and analytical solutions within Appian.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment, lead technical discussions, and manage project timelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across the full application stack.
• Knowledge of security and compliance requirements, including federal cybersecurity frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in the federal space with government clients or agencies.
• Appian Certified Lead Developer or Architect.
• Familiarity with additional technologies such as Java, SQL, RESTful APIs, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Experience in the deployment and maintenance of Appian in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of data integration patterns, enterprise data management, and data security best practices.
• Knowledge of Database concepts.
