Job summary

The Atlantic Region Central Billing Office (ARCBO) is seeking a dynamic Appeals Team Lead to partner with the Appeals Manager in overseeing Appeals Specialists and Coding Specialists.

Responsibilities include coordinating training, addressing denials with internal departments, tracking trends, and providing performance feedback. The role requires strong MS Office skills and healthcare office experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years appeals experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Customer focused with attention to detail and strong communication.
  • Familiarity with appeals and 1-3 years healthcare business office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates training of new hires and provides in-services as appropriate
  • Works with Appeals Manager to resolve issues associated with denials between other internal departments of the CBO or external departments of the facilities served
  • Works in conjunction with Appeals Manager to review open and closed denials to monitor trends at individual facility level to assist with denial avoidance, by providing feedback.
  • Assists Appeals Manager in providing regular feedback to staff related to performance using reviews of productivity and quality of work.
  • Establish and build relationships with major payer representatives at third party insurance companies, and key contacts within Case Management departments within each facility.
  • Review and/or create daily, weekly and monthly reports as assigned.
  • Assist department manager and assistant director with developing individual and group departmental goals and objectives
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Appeals Team Lead.

The Appeals Team Lead is responsible for working in conjunction with the Appeals Manager to coordinate the operational activities of the Appeals Specialists and Coding Specialists.

Qualifications
Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years appeals experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Customer focused both internally and externally, strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, strong 10 key data entry, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Familiarity with appeals and 1-3 years healthcare business office experience preferred.
