Job summary

The NYC Department of Finance (DOF) seeks an Appeals Supervisor to support the Chief Administrative Law Judge and Administrative Law Judges within the Adjudication Division. This role oversees staff responsible for time-sensitive tasks related to the adjudication of more than 2 million summonses annually.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will review forms, maintain records, adjust databases, and ensure timely hearing scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with two years clerical/administrative experience, one year supervisory.
• Associate degree with three years clerical/administrative experience including supervisory.
• Four-year high school diploma and four years clerical/administrative experience with supervisory.
• Education/experience equivalent with one year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily clerical staff and manage mail, filing, and status updates.
• Review broker, company representative and owner forms and documentation.
• Make necessary adjustments to STARS/NYCServ databases to fix errors.
• Serve as backup approver for time and leave in CityTime.
• Coordinate hearing scheduling and compile unit reports.
• Collaborate with IT, Parking Operations, Legal, and other DOF units on automation projects.
