Job summary

Smartwool, a VF brand in Denver, seeks a Technical Developer to transform design concepts into high-quality apparel. You will own fit across inline categories, leverage 3D tools, and collaborate with designers, merchandisers and developers to speed time-to-market while supporting sustainability initiatives.

The role requires 5+ years in technical development, strong patternmaking and 3D experience, and the ability to travel domestically and overseas as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Technical Development.
• Knowledge of apparel fit analysis, grading, construction, patternmaking, and 3D.
• Understanding of product categories, materials, and development lifecycle.
• Ability to manage multiple seasonal calendars in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and clear communication with offshore vendors.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee development schedules for prototypes.
• Take ownership of fit in inline product categories with mentorship on advanced developments.
• Collaborate with designers, merchandisers, and product developers for smooth communication.
• Ensure fit intent and consistency through analysis, pattern corrections, and training.
• Provide comments on virtual and physical protos and enter notes into PLM.
• Build 3D digital assets with the Digital Product Creation team as needed.
• Help build 3D Fit Blocks and guidelines to align products to fit standards.
• Support team efficiency and adjust workload as needed.
