Job summary

BCI Brands in New York, NY seeks a Development Technical Designer to lead the technical design process for new lines and to generate tech packs for production. You will collaborate with design and production teams to ensure alignment with market trends and brand identity.

The role requires hands-on experience with garment construction, PLM tech packs, and strong skills in Illustrator and CLO 3D, with a focus on delivering accurate specs and on-time production while maintaining brand consistency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical designer experience in apparel industry (garment construction experience and timelines for woven and knit products).
• Experience making Tech Packs in PLM platforms is required.
• Knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, sewing techniques, trim and technical knowledge of fabric and construction.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience with CLO 3-D highly preferred.
• Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, and Word.
• Ability to analyze workload and plan accordingly with exceptional follow-up.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload and tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support the Design Director with the design process from initial inspiration to final production.
• Create initial tech-packs, measurement, construction, sample tech-packs and production tech-packs.
• Measure all samples to ensure they arrive on spec and as requested.
• Communicate daily with overseas teams.
• Work with overseas and domestic factories to get garments made correctly and on time.
• Create and execute on the vision of the Design Director, ensuring product aligns with market trends and brand identity.
• Attend fittings with designer and take detailed notes.
• Create and update line sketches for each season as needed.
