Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is hiring a donations sorter to help process and stage clothing donations at our Charlotte location. You will sort items by quality, separate high-value pieces, and prepare stock for the sales floor.

No experience is required; a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential. You will stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work as part of a team. Starting pay is $15/hour with merit raises and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Sort donated clothing to determine what meets quality standards.
• Identify and separate higher-value clothing for special handling.
• Organize sellable and unsellable items into proper bins.
• Track daily production counts and maintain records.
• Hang and group clothing using color rotation system.
• Stock or remove clothing from the sales floor as needed.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and compliant with procedures.
• Support other roles as needed.
• Report theft, safety, or security concerns to management.
