Job summary

Cella is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Apparel and Product Development Designer for a 1-year contract in Framingham, MA, with a hybrid schedule requiring 2 days on site. The role focuses on trend concepts, color palettes, and technically accurate artwork for adult sweaters, guiding concepts from concept meetings to prototype development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development focused on relevant apparel categories (experience with sweaters and garment construction is preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to sketch and fill technical flats, as well as build full-size artwork layouts in Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong aesthetic sense and high taste level reflected in a portfolio submission.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills with a high attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey conceptual design ideas clearly within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Product Development team from initial concept meetings through artwork execution and prototype development.
• Design and execute technically accurate artwork and concept boards utilizing freehand sketching, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
• Select seasonal color palettes based on current industry trends, color intelligence, and competitive brand analysis.
• Create full-size artwork layouts in Adobe Illustrator with detailed technical call-outs, fill technical flats, and perform precision sketching.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and liaise with overseas vendors throughout the product lifecycle.
• Manage multiple concurrent design projects, proactively identifying potential obstacles and implementing effective solutions.

This opportunity focuses on driving trend concepts, color palettes, and technically accurate artwork for adult apparel categories, with a specific focus on adult sweaters. This is a 1-year contract role operating on a hybrid schedule, requiring 2 days per week onsite in Framingham, MA.
