Job summary

Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis is seeking an Advanced Practice RN (PAT) to serve as an educator, advocate and care provider for perioperative patients undergoing elective surgeries. The PAT role focuses on pre-admission testing and medical clearance to optimize outcomes.

The APRN collaborates with anesthesia, surgery and internal medicine teams, conducting histories, physicals, risk assessments, orders and interpretations of tests, and preoperative optimization to ensure safe perioperative care.

Qualifications

  • Complete history and physicals for patient’s undergoing elective surgeries
  • Optimize comorbidities of patient’s undergoing elective surgeries
  • Perform risk stratification for patient’s undergoing elective surgeries
  • Order and interpret EKGs, labs, imaging and various cardiac diagnostic testing
  • Obtain accurate medication reconciliations and provide perioperative medication management
  • Consult with various specialties as needed (Anesthesia, Surgery, Internal Medicine)
  • Refer patients to various specialties as needed for further preoperative evaluation and optimization

Job Role Summary
