A physician-led healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a small community hospital’s overnight hospital medicine team. This is a full-time, fixed-night role offering a predictable seven-on/seven-off schedule, a stated hospitalist census of approximately 6–10 patients, and the opportunity to practice in a close-knit clinical environment.
About the Role
What you will do
- Provide adult inpatient hospital medicine coverage during the overnight shift.
- Evaluate new admissions and manage cross-cover needs within approved scope and privileges.
- Recognize clinical deterioration, initiate appropriate care, and **escalate** to physician or higher-level resources.
- Coordinate with nursing, emergency medicine, specialists, and the daytime hospitalist team.
- Complete accurate orders, documentation, medication reconciliation, and handoffs in the hospital EMR.
- Participate in orientation, credentialing, and ongoing quality/safety expectations.
Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant eligible for hospital privileges.
- Active Ohio license or client-approved pathway to obtain one.
- Post-graduate adult inpatient experience strongly preferred; hospital medicine, internal medicine, critical care, or closely related high-acuity experience is most relevant.
- Sound independent judgment, strong escalation instincts, and comfort working overnight.
- Ability to work seven consecutive 12-hour night shifts followed by seven days off.
- Required certifications and procedure competencies will be confirmed during the interview process.

Pay range and compensation package
- $75–$80/hour base compensation.
- Negotiable sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.
- License and DEA costs covered for full-time providers; credentialing fees covered.
