Job description

Transform patient care and the community as a Nocturnist Hospital Medicine Physician in Columbus, Ohio.

Bring better care to the bedside in Columbus. In this role, you’ll combine clinical skill with purpose, delivering patient-centered care and driving performance in a supportive environment. You’ll have the autonomy to lead and the resources to grow-while making a difference for patients and families every day.

We are hiring for a nocturnist position. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • We are seeking a nocturnist to join our well-established team of 18 physicians and 7 advanced practice providers (APPs), supported by a clinical performance nurse, a clinical performance associate, and a group coordinator at Mt. Carmel East.
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of professionals from around the world. We are an integral part of our hospital community and a valued strategic partner, maintaining great relationships with hospital leadership and other physician groups.
  • Our team actively participates in committees and leadership roles to support quality and process improvement.
  • Outside of work, we come together for social events to celebrate special occasions and share common interests like food and sports.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified/eligible in family or internal medicine.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Scheduling:

  • Full-time positions follow a 7-days-on, 7-days-off rotation, but we understand the importance of spending time with family and enjoying the outdoors.
  • We offer a flexible schedule that allows for work-life balance. Our team covers for each other when anyone is out, ensuring that you can enjoy time off without worry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focus on managing complex cases in an open ICU environment with intensivist coverage, without the expectation of performing procedures or running codes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to teaching medical and APP students from surrounding universities and programs on occasion.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, held two to three times per week, to discuss critical items, and engage in monthly regional meetings to review performance and address outstanding practice matters.
