Job summary

Northeast Internal Medicine Associates seeks a dependable Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our nightshift hospitalist team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This full-time role features a 6:00 PM–6:00 AM, 7-on/7-off schedule, with hybrid onsite and remote coverage to support hospital operations.

You will perform admissions, cross-cover for hospitalized adults, coordinate with ED staff, and ensure timely documentation.

Qualifications

• Active or eligible state licensure.
• Acute-care, hospitalist, emergency medicine, or internal medicine experience preferred.
• New graduates with strong clinical skills and an interest in hospital medicine are encouraged to apply.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a physician-led team.
• Proficiency with Epic is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete hospital admissions and comprehensive history and physical examinations.
• Provide overnight cross-coverage for hospitalized adult patients.
• Evaluate changes in patient condition and respond to urgent clinical concerns.
• Review diagnostic results and initiate appropriate treatment plans.
• Collaborate with emergency department providers, nursing staff, physicians, and specialists.
• Provide clear handoff communication to the daytime hospitalist team.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
• Maintain appropriate onsite presence during the in-house portion of the shift.

This full-time position offers a consistent7-on/7-off schedule, providing an excellent balance between a rewarding clinical role and extended time off.

Schedule

• 7 on 7 off rotation
• 6:00 PM-6:00 AM
• Combination of onsite and remote coverage, based on hospital and patient-care needs
