Title

APP/NP – Inpatient/Outpatient Neurology

Description

Bronson Neuroscience Center seeks a team‑focused, goal‑oriented Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide care for adult neurology patients. The role includes outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, and consults, supporting general neurology with an opportunity to build a subspecialty practice in stroke, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, and headache. No call or weekend requirements. Full‑time schedule Monday–Friday in Kalamazoo, with occasional support at satellite locations.

Responsibilities

• Concurrent Clinical Management: Coordinate care with the multi‑disciplinary team, facilitate patient progress toward outcomes, provide clinical resource support, and identify and prevent common complications.
• Utilization Review: Perform initial comprehensive assessments to determine appropriate intensity of service, apply regulatory and payer criteria, and facilitate timely discharges or transfers.
• Clinical Management: Evaluate and manage patients, interpret lab, EKG, imaging studies, complete documentation for billing, medical care, orders, and progress notes; support nursing questions and status changes.

Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of APP experience (preferred). Experience in neurology, inpatient hospitalist, critical care, ED, or internal/family medicine is preferred.
• Ability to practice independently with strong clinical decision making and clear communication with patients, families, and the team.
• Proficient in navigating the EMR (Epic).
• Graduate of an accredited PA/NP program with an unrestricted Michigan license.
