Job summary

Vogrinc Search Group is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for heavy civil highway and utility projects in the Virginia region, with relocation assistance available. You will work alongside a senior PM on roadway, highway and utility work, often involving VDOT programs, across Fredericksburg and Northern Virginia.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years on relevant projects, a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, and familiarity with scheduling, cost tracking, and field

Qualifications

• 3+ years on heavy civil, highway or utility projects.
• VDOT or other DOT project experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of scheduling and cost tracking.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
• HeavyJob, Bluebeam or P6 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive submittals, RFIs and procurement so field crews stay ahead of the work.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supplier purchase orders.
• Track quantities, production and cost against budget.
• Prepare monthly pay applications and cost projections.
• Support schedule updates and change management.
• Work with VDOT inspectors and owner representatives.
• Keep project documentation clean and current.
• Take part in weekly schedule and cost reviews with the project team.
• Support a strong jobsite safety culture.
