Job summary

Eliassen Group is looking for a hands-on API Spring Developer to build backend services and REST APIs in a hybrid model based in Maryland Heights, MO. You will work with Spring and Java to enable AI agents to interact with enterprise systems and deliver secure, reliable backend capabilities.

Responsibilities include implementing integrations, applying platform standards, participating in code reviews, collaborating with the team on CI/CD, writing unit tests, and mentoring junior developers.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Spring and Spring Boot development experience.
• Strong Java background with OO programming expertise.
• Experience building REST APIs and backend integrations.
• Experience in an enterprise development environment.
• Proficiency with unit testing, Git, and Maven.
• Experience with CI/CD and modern development practices.
• Nice to have: Agentic AI or Generative AI exposure, microservices, MongoDB, enterprise integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services and REST APIs using Spring and Java.
• Implement integrations with downstream and enterprise systems to provide customer context for AI agents.
• Apply platform standards and patterns for service development and deployment.
• Participate in peer reviews and code reviews to ensure code quality.
• Collaborate within a development team and contribute to modern CI/CD practices.
• Write and maintain unit tests to ensure reliability and maintainability.
• Mentor less experienced developers.
