Fastly is hiring a Software Development Engineer for API Services in a hybrid, open-location setup. You will build features interacting with neighboring services, contribute to core infrastructure, and participate in on-call rotations.

The role emphasizes Go proficiency, knowledge of AWS/GCP, Docker/Kubernetes, and IaC with Terraform. Expect collaboration across time zones and a focus on scalable, reliable edge cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related development experience.
• GoLang with desire to build deeper hands-on expertise.
• Exposure to cloud providers (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of core engineering concepts within your area.
• Ability to interact with neighboring applications or services.
• Distributed systems and microservices awareness.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement features interfacing with neighboring systems across teams.
• Participate in design and code reviews; provide feedback.
• Contribute to core infrastructure and platform needs, using Terraform, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Chef.
• Automate manual tasks and improve reliability.
• Onboard and support new team members; participate in on-call rotations.
