Job summary

DXP Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Pump Mechanic to repair and fabricate various pumps and related equipment in Pasadena, Texas. This role requires at least 5 years of experience in pump repair, alongside an understanding of API standards.

Summary

The Pump Mechanic will repair/fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers, and related rotating equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, disassembling, inspecting, and repairing rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps (single and multi‑stage), gear pumps, reciprocating pumps, metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers (vacuum and pressure), mechanical seals, and other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, disassemble, inspect, repair, fabricate, paint, and package/prep API centrifugal pumps and related rotating equipment.
• Safely load, unload, and move equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience working in a pump repair facility.
• Experience repairing IPM pumps, creating details, and making technical decisions.
• In‑depth understanding of API 610 and other applicable standards.
• Ability to read pump sectional drawings, machine drawings, and OEM pump manuals.
• Disassembly, inspection, and ability to write detailed rotating equipment reports for repairs or replacements.
• Experience with pneumatic and hydrostatic testing of parts and equipment.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical seal drawings, perform mechanical seal removal, installation, and pneumatic pressure testing.
• Ability to work with multiple and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to achieve results with minimal supervision.
• Background check, physical, and drug test required.

Physical Demand

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions

Must be able to work in a shop environment without AC and heat, with possible exposure to dirt, heat, and noise.

Shift Time/Overtime

6:00 am to 4:30 pm CDT, must be able to work OT hours as required.
