Job summary

DXP Enterprises, Inc. in Blue Ash, OH, is seeking a Pump Mechanic to repair and fabricate centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and related rotating equipment.

You will troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect, and repair pumps and accessories to restore performance and reliability. Qualifications

Summary

The Pump Mechanic will repair and fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers, and related rotating equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, disassembling, inspecting, and repairing a range of rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps (single or multi-stage), gear pumps, reciprocating and metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers (vacuum and pressure), mechanical seals, and many other types of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair and fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers, and related rotating equipment.
• Troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect, and repair a variety of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps (single and multi-stage), gear pumps, reciprocating pumps, metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers (vacuum and pressure), and mechanical seals.
• Install equipment using manufacturer specifications, ensuring proper alignment, balance, and tolerances.
• Read and understand an IOM and BOM.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

• Advanced mechanical aptitude required.
• 3‑5 years of experience working with rotating equipment (mainly pumps), including API and ANSI pumps, centrifugal and plunger pumps, all brands of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, gear pumps, diaphragm pumps, H‑pumps, gear boxes, and rotary valves (preferred).
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
• Experience with alignment methods and tools, including laser alignment (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, service manuals, and perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Customer‑driven mindset.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Positive, “can‑do” attitude.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow safety procedures and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to act in a self‑directed manner with no immediate supervision.
• Background check, physical exam, and drug test required.

Additional Information

Physical demand: Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and stand for long durations.

Working conditions: Climate‑controlled shop environment.

Training and certifications: Professional skill training is a plus.

Shift time and overtime: Typical work is 7:30 am – 4:30 pm; occasional overtime may be required.

Travel: Occasional overnight driving might be required; acceptable driving record required according to company guidelines.

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Vocational, industrial, or mechanical education is a plus but not required.
