Job summary

Deloitte is seeking an Integration Engineer II, API Developer for AI & Engineering/Engineering as a Service in San Francisco. You will design and implement enterprise-grade integrations across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will work with MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, Workato and other tools to build RESTful APIs, ensure security, and guide SDLC from development to production while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 4+ years with one or more modern languages (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Experience designing integration solutions across on-premises and cloud.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns and architectural styles.
• API design and development experience (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
• API security standards (OAuth2, JWT, SAML, API keys) and versioning.
• Experience with enterprise integration platforms/tools (MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, Workato, BizTalk, Boomi).
• Experience with at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge of data mapping, transformation, orchestration.
• CI/CD and multi-environment deployment experience.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Travel up to 50%; legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architecture spanning frontend, backend, integration layers, and cloud infrastructure.
• Define standards and integration design patterns to guide the team.
• Create architecture diagrams, data mapping, and design documents.
• Build backend services and APIs using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript with Azure or equivalent tools.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs connecting systems for reliable data exchange.
• Implement API security, versioning, rate limiting, and robust error handling.
• SDLC ownership across Dev, Test, UAT, Production environments.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and provide post-deployment support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers.
• Lead projects/workstreams and manage stakeholder expectations.
