Job summary

Deloitte is seeking an Integration Engineer II – API Developer with Integration Tool Experience to join our AI & Engineering team. You will design end-to-end integration solutions, collaborate with global teams, and contribute to a robust API strategy across Azure and on-premises systems.

The role requires hands-on coding in Python/JavaScript/TypeScript, experience with MuleSoft, Apigee or similar tools, and strong SDLC process knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with one or more modern programming languages for building backend services and APIs.
• Experience designing and implementing integration solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns and architectural styles.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end system architecture spanning frontend, backend, integration layers, and cloud infrastructure.
• Define technical standards and integration design patterns to guide development.
• Create architecture diagrams, specifications, and data mapping details.
• Build backend services and APIs using Python/JavaScript/TypeScript and cloud tools; work with enterprise integration tools like MuleSoft or Apigee.
• Design, build, and integrate RESTful APIs connecting third-party and internal systems.
• Implement API security, versioning, rate limiting, and robust error handling.
• Manage SDLC including testing and deployments across Dev, Test, UAT, Production.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide post-deployment support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data flows and adhere to best practices.
• Take ownership of projects, mentor junior developers, and manage stakeholder expectations.
