Job summary

Deloitte is seeking an Integration Engineer II to design and implement API-driven integration solutions across hybrid environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and leverage tools like MuleSoft, Apigee, and other enterprise integration platforms to deliver scalable, secure data exchanges.

The role requires hands-on API development with Python/JavaScript, cloud experience (Azure/AWS/GCP), and the ability to guide architectural decisions while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with one or more modern programming languages for building backend services and APIs.
• Experience designing integration solutions across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Understanding of integration patterns (ESB, iPaaS, hub-and-spoke) and API design.
• Experience with RESTful, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs and API security basics.
• Experience with enterprise integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, Workato, BizTalk, Boomi.
• Cloud experience (Azure/AWS/GCP) and CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication and ability to translate requirements to technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architecture across frontend, backend, integration layers, and cloud.
• Define standards and design patterns to guide the dev team.
• Create architecture diagrams, specs, and data mappings.
• Build backend services and APIs using Python and JavaScript/TypeScript with Azure and integration tools.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs connecting third-party and internal systems.
• Implement API security, versioning, rate-limiting, and error handling.
• Oversee SDLC across Dev, Test, UAT, Production environments.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and provide post-deployment support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data flows.
• Own projects, manage stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers.
