Job summary

PingWind is seeking an API Developer to join our team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. This is a fully remote position responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining APIs that enable communication between different software systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related discipline, 5 years of relevant experience (degree may be substituted for 8 years), and eligibility to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or technical discipline.
• 5 years relevant experience (Degree may be substituted for 8 years).
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with API design, REST/GraphQL.
• Experience with Java and Python development.

Responsibilities

• Define and document API specifications, endpoints, data models, and protocols (REST, GraphQL).
• Build and implement APIs using Java, Python, and related frameworks.
• Ensure seamless integration with internal and external systems and services.
• Write unit and integration tests; ensure reliability and performance.
• Create and maintain API documentation with usage examples and best practices.
• Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and security best practices.
• Monitor, optimize API performance and scalability; manage API versions.

PingWind is seeking an API Developer to join our team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. This is a fully remote position is responsible for development of Application Programming Interfaces APIs including designing, developing, and maintaining APIs that enable communication between different software systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and document API specifications, endpoints, data models, and protocols - REST, GraphQL.
• Build and implement APIs using programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Python.
• Ensure seamless integration of APIs with internal and external systems, applications, and third-party services.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for APIs. Debug and resolve issues to ensure reliability and performance.
• Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for API consumers, including usage examples and best practices.
• Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and other security best practices to protect data and services.
• Monitor and optimize API performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Manage API versions and ensure backward compatibility as APIs evolve.
• Work closely with front-end and back-end developers, architects, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements based on user feedback.

Salary Range

$100k-$140K
