Job summary

PingWind is seeking a Product Manager to join our team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. This fully remote role is responsible for defining and communicating the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities include collaborating with business units and technical stakeholders, prioritizing the backlog, and guiding end-to-end delivery of product initiatives while ensuring security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of product management or IT project management experience, preferably with API platforms or integration technologies.
  • Experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, microservices architecture, and API management tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven track record delivering complex IT projects or products in Agile.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with backlog management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps) and Agile frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with internal teams, external partners, and leadership to align priorities.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog with clear acceptance criteria for user stories.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to stability, security, and timelines.
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure adoption, reliability, and impact.
  • Drive ongoing product enhancements from feedback and analytics.
  • Ensure documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure platform adheres to security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a small team of product managers.

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the end-to-end delivery of product initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and leadership to align priorities and manage expectations.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring clear definition and acceptance criteria for user stories and features.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to product stability, security, and delivery timelines.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product adoption, reliability, and business impact.
  • Drive ongoing enhancements to the product based on user feedback, analytics, and emerging technology trends.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of product, processes, and features for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure the platform adheres to security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a small team of product managers
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or IT project management, preferably with API platforms or integration technologies.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with security, authentication, and authorization standards (e.g., OAuth, JWT) is a plus.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, QA, security, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing and leading teams
  • Previous experience implementing complex API solutions for Federal health clients.
  • Previous experience delivering high-availability systems.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert communication and client management skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible, able to adapt to different customer groups and expectations
  • Outcome-oriented approach focused on delivering value to end users backed by measurable, data-driven results
  • U.S. Citizenship; Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance

Salary Range

$100k-$140K
