Job summary

ACUREN is actively recruiting for an API 510/570 Inspector III to support our Billings, MT operations. This role provides advanced technical oversight, reviews inspection procedures, interprets complex specifications, and makes accept/reject decisions on critical components.

Level III responsibilities may include leading projects and guiding lower-level inspectors, while coordinating with engineering, quality, and client representatives.

Qualifications

• API 510/570 certification (or equivalent)
• 5–10 years’ experience or 2+ years on site experience
• API 653 or CWI is a plus
• In-depth working knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards
• Experience supporting petrochemical facility engineers

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical oversight and ensure consistent application of visual inspection standards
• Review and approve inspection procedures, interpret complex specifications
• Make accept/reject decisions on critical components
• Lead projects as a Level III inspector and mentor lower-level inspectors
• Liaise with engineering, quality, and client representatives

The API 510,570,653 to/Visual Inspector III provides advanced technical oversight and ensures consistent application of visual inspection standards. They review and approve inspection procedures, interpret complex specifications, and make accept/reject decisions on critical components. Level III inspectors may serve as project leads, provide technical direction to lower-level inspectors, and liaise with engineering, quality, and client representatives. This role requires extensive experience, certification mastery, and strong knowledge of codes such as ASME, AWS, or API.
LOCATION REQUIREMENTS: We are currently seeking local candidates based in Billings, Montana or the surrounding area, or individuals who are open to relocating. While we welcome applications from all qualified candidates, local availability or a willingness to relocate is preferred due to the nature of this role
