Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an experienced RN to join our Apheresis team across multiple sites. The role includes performing plasmapheresis, photopheresis, stem cell collections, LDL apheresis, RBC exchange, and white cell depletions, with on-call and weekend assignments.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• California RN license required.
• BART or BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months.
• At least one year of recent Therapeutic Apheresis RN or equivalent acute-care experience.
• Proficiency with peripheral IV and vascular access options.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with empathy and clear communication.
• Ability to work at multiple UC San Diego Health locations and flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Perform plasmapheresis, photopheresis, stem cell collections, LDL apheresis, RBC exchange, and white cell depletions.
• Work across multiple UC San Diego Health sites; flexible scheduling including pediatric, on-call, and weekend assignments.
• Provide autonomous nursing care per ANA standards and professional performance.
• Operate highly specialized equipment and manage complex procedures with close patient observation.
• Contribute to patient-centered care through teamwork, professionalism, empathy, and respectful communication.
