Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specialized in apheresis for a per diem role in the Pheresis department. The RN will perform plasmapheresis, photopheresis, stem cell collections and related procedures across multiple sites, including pediatric and weekend assignments.

Training and ongoing education are provided, with an emphasis on autonomous, high-quality patient care. Requirements include CA RN license, BART or BLS/CPR at hire, and 1+ year of therapeutic

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BART or BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
• At least one (1) year of recent Therapeutic Apheresis RN experience or related acute-care RN experience.
• Proficiency with peripheral IV insertion and vascular access options.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, empathetic patient care.
• Ability to work independently and within interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform plasmapheresis, photopheresis, stem cell collections, LDL apheresis, RBC exchange, and white cell depletions.
• Flexibly work across multiple sites; training provided.
• Includes pediatric, on-call and weekend assignments.
