Bushburg Properties Inc. is seeking a Handyman / Building Maintenance Technician to maintain the property’s appearance, safety, and functionality.

The role supports daily building operations, resident services, and apartment turnover, including repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in residential property maintenance and can work independently while prioritizing requests.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in residential or property maintenance is preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs.
• Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repair/troubleshooting.
• Experience handling maintenance work orders and resident service requests.
• Familiarity with apartment turnover and make-ready processes.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize urgent maintenance needs.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to use common hand/power tools.
• Excellent communication and customer service with residents and staff.

Responsabilités

• Perform daily inspections of common areas and property grounds to identify maintenance needs.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and provide same-day service when required.
• Complete maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Perform general repairs and preventive maintenance in residential units and common areas.
• Maintain exterior areas for cleanliness, safety, and appearance.
• Inspect and maintain building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Coordinate larger repairs with supervisors when needed.
• Make-ready / apartment turnover to prepare units for new residents.
• Replace air filters and perform routine apartment maintenance.
• Install, repair, and troubleshoot locks, doors, and related hardware.
• Test smoke detectors and basic safety equipment.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repairs.
• Provide residents with guidance regarding maintenance and equipment use.
• Maintain professional relations with residents while working in occupied units.
