Bender Companies is seeking a dedicated Apartment Maintenance Technician for our Mount Prospect community. You will perform routine inspections, respond to service requests, and help keep common areas clean and attractive.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of maintenance experience, strong repair skills (plumbing, electrical, HVAC), good communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Full-time, on-site, with hourly pay of $24-$26.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of maintenance experience in apartment/facilities or residential construction
• Strong communication skills with residents, vendors, and team members
• Familiarity with basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC and appliance maintenance
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Perform routine property inspections to identify and address maintenance issues
• Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally
• Maintain property grounds by cleaning and tidying common areas
• Support unit turnovers and make-readies (painting, repairs, cleaning) as needed
• Assist in preventative maintenance to extend life of systems
• Ensure safe work practices and compliance with building codes
• Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management
• Participate in on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What We are Looking For:

Bender Companies is seeking a skilled and dedicated Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at our community in Mount Prospect . The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

To succeed in this role, you should possess strong troubleshooting abilities, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues. The right candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and able to follow direction while also working independently when needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24-$26 per hour

Schedule :

• 8 AM to 4:30 PM (however hours may vary)
• Monday to Friday

What you will be doing:

As a Maintenance Technician at Bender Companies, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations and overall upkeep of the community. You will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard.

In this role, you will collaborate with the maintenance team to address service requests, perform preventative maintenance, and contribute to creating a well-maintained, comfortable living environment for our residents.

Core responsibilities include:

• Perform routine property inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively
• Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally
• Maintain property grounds by removing trash, leaves, branches, and other debris to keep common areas clean and attractive
• Support the completion of unit turnovers and make-readies, including painting, repairs, and cleaning as needed
• Assist in preventative maintenance efforts to extend the life of property systems and equipment
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
• Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management
• Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours maintenance emergencies
• Perform additional duties as assigned

This position will require you to work on-site at the property in Mount Prospect.
